What is suprematic?

Suprematic — suprematica, when we speak of it as a belief — is a systematic approach to solving complex problems: reduce a problem to its pure base, keep only the elements that matter most, and the noise falls away on its own.

Most of any complex system is noise. What remains, when the noise is taken away, is the system.

The name is borrowed from Suprematism, the movement Kazimir Malevich began in 1915, which stripped painting down to basic geometric forms and a deliberately limited palette. A black square on a white ground was not a picture of something — it was what remained when everything unnecessary had been removed.

We hold the same belief about understanding the world: model the few elements that carry a system’s structure, leave the rest outside the frame, and decisions become legible. It is why this site is linen, ink, and one red square.
